Sophie Winkleman in Peep Show series 6

September 2009

Sophie Winkleman returns as Big Suze in series 6 of Peep Show, the British sitcom that stars David Mitchell and Robert Webb as odd couple flatmates Mark and Jeremy. Series 6 first airs on Channel 4 on Friday 18 September 2009.

Sophie appears in episodes four (mainly) and five, with Big Suze still dating Mark's boss. Paterson Joseph (Alan), Olivia Colman (Sophie), Matt King (Super Hans) and Isy Suttie (Dobby) also return.

Peep Show has been confirmed for a seventh series, with previous series available to buy on DVD.

Sophie Winkleman and Lord Freddie Windsor's wedding

September 2009

Sophie Winkleman and Lord Freddie Windsor were married on Saturday 12 September at Hampton Court Palace in Surrey, England. The candle-lit wedding ceremony took place in the Palace's Chapel Royal, followed by a champagne reception in the Great Hall.

Friends and family - including Sophie's parents, Barry and Cindy Winkleman and Lord Freddie's parents, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent - then joined Sophie (now Lady Frederick) and Lord Freddie for a late evening reception.

Sophie Winkleman plays lead in NBC's US sitcom, 100 Questions

August 2009

Sophie Winkleman plays Charlotte Payne in a brand new US comedy show directed by James Burrows, director of Friends and Will & Grace. 100 Questions follows Charlotte on a journey of self-discovery as she searches for Mr Right, having already declined proposals from ten would-be husbands. The show is based around a dating agency's 100 question compatibility test.

With one half hour episode per question, 100 Questions clearly has the potential to become a long running show. Sophie Winkleman's fellow cast members include Elizabeth Ho, Joy Suprano, Amir Talai and Christopher Moynihan. Moynihan is the writer and also an executive producer, along with Ron West and Kelly Kulchak (both from Psych).

Sophie Winkleman in Kingdom series 3, ITV

Sophie Winkleman appears as a guest star in Kingdom series 3, playing Kate Mitchells in episode one of the six part ITV drama that stars Stephen Fry as Norfolk-based solicitor, Peter Kingdom.

Suitably attired in riding gear for her opening scene, Sophie's character seeks help from Kingdom solicitor Lyle Anderson (Karl Davies) with a gender disrimination claim against the mounted regiment of the Blues & Royals (Household Cavalry). As Kate's tale unfolds, Lyle finds himself questioning his prejudices about army stereotypes as he tackles modern day concepts of honour and duty.

Series 3 of Kingdom also features cast regulars Hermione Norris (Spooks, Wire In The Blood), Celia Imrie (After You've Gone, The Commander), John Thompson (New Street Law, Coronation Street) and Tony Slattery. Other guest stars include Jack Dee, Sandi Toksvig and Jaye Griffiths.

Episode one first aired in the UK on 7 June 2009. Kindgom series 3 has a total running time of 274 minutes and is available to buy on DVD as a pre-order ahead of its UK release date of 7 June 2010.

Sophie Winkleman in ElvenQuest on BBC Radio 4

Sophie Winkleman plays Penthiselea the Warrior Princess in ElvenQuest, a sci-fi comedy series written for radio by Anil Gupta and Richard Pinto. ElvenQuest first aired on BBC Radio 4, spanning six 30 minute episodes between 29 April and 3 June 2009.

Sophie's fellow cast regulars include Alistair McGowan (impressionist / actor), Stephen Mangan (Green Wing, Free Agents), Darren Boyd (Personal Affairs) and Kevin Eldon (Hyperdrive). Dave Lamb and James Bachman also feature as Amis the dog.

ElvenQuest's plot revolves around a novelist who finds himself inadvertently transported from a routine book signing into a fantasy world complete with a vital quest, a mythical weapon of great power and a chilled-out villain, Lord Darkness.

ElvenQuest has just been released in audiobook format. It is currently available to buy as a digital download in both the UK and the US (see links below). A CD version of ElvenQuest is also scheduled for release, but not until 4 February 2010.

Sophie Winkleman joins original crew for Red Dwarf: Back to Earth

Sophie Winkleman plays Katerina Bartikovsky in a new three part mini-series Red Dwarf: Back to Earth, commissioned by TV channel Dave to commemorate the cult sci-fi comedy show's 21st anniversary.

Sophie appears as a holographic version of one of Red Dwarf's science officers. Katerina is a smarter and higher ranking hologram than Rimmer, for whom she is intended as a replacement.

Craig Charles, Chris Barrie, Robert Llewellyn and Danny John-Jules all return in Red Dwarf: Back to Earth, which began on Dave at 9pm on 10 April 2009. A "making of" documentary about the new series aired on 12 April, with the trilogy and documentary repeated on 13 April. Read more about the special episodes of Red Dwarf on Dave.

Sophie Winkleman in Robin Hood, BBC1

March 2009

Sophie Winkleman appears in episode 10 (out of 13) in Series 3 of the popular BBC drama series, Robin Hood. The 45 minute episode, entitled Bad Blood, first aired on BBC1 and BBC HD on 28 March 2009.

Sophie plays Ghislaine, who turns out to be a pivotal historical character in the storyline. Her significance is revealed when Robin Hood and Gisborne learn the tale of their past from a mysterious figure.
