Sophie Winkleman in The Palace, ITVSophie plays the role of Princess Eleanor in The Palace, ITV's contemporary drama that offers compelling insights into the lives of a fictional Royal Family. The first episode, which aired on Monday 14 January 2008, saw a young Prince become King Richard IV following the sudden death of his father. As the oldest child, Eleanor feels that the Crown should have passed to her. Sophie enjoys considerable screen time as one of the key plot lines follows Princess Eleanor's ongoing power struggle. |
Sophie Winkleman in Gumball 3000 Rally Film By Mike FiggisDetails have yet to be announced, but Sophie has completed shooting a docu-film directed by Mike Figgis (Oscar nominated director of Leaving Las Vegas) based around the 2007 Gumball Rally. Still in editing and as yet untitled, it was shot by a team of four in addition to Sophie and her co-star, Daniel Lapaine (Australian born actor and husband of Cold Feet's Fay Ripley). By using such a small team, they were able to shoot intimate scenes whilst in the midst of huge crowds and in other busy venues. Sophie Winkleman in two new TV series - Peep Show and Harry Enfield / Paul WhitehouseSophie appeared in two new television comedy series, both of which were first screened in April 2007. Fans of Peep Show will already be familiar with her role as Big Suze, from previous series of this popular comedy, which focuses on the lives of Mark and Jeremy as played by David Mitchell and Robert Webb. The new series of Peep Show began on Friday 13 April at 10.30pm on Channel 4. Sophie also makes various appearances during the course of Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse's collaborative TV show, Ruddy Hell! It's Harry And Paul, which began on Friday 13 April on BBC1 at 9.30pm. |

The play, written by Lawrence Marks and Maurice Gran, imagines what might have happened had Hitler undergone therapy. |
